Strive has it's flaws (especially with Venom), but the game been an overall net positive for the Guilty Gear community. It pushed the series much closer to the mainstream and built an audience and fanbase for Guilty Gear that no one expected. It's possible if this game flopped then classic games like Rev2 and BBCF would not have gotten rollback. Strive has been a great gateway to get eyeballs on some of the older Arcsys games.
Strive is coming up to a crossroads. The final version of a game doesn't just affect the current players - it affects future generations of players. Somewhere in the world today a child will be born who never will get a meaningful opportunity to post online about what buffs/nerfs are needed to balance in Strive. One might argue that the players today have a moral obligation to advocate on behalf of these future players and ensure that they will inherit a game with strong balance and a sustainable meta.
At the end of the day, Mad Struggle has a simple request. Continue to support the FGC. Whether that's by teaching someone new to play a game, supporting content creators, traveling to locals, showing out for majors or even something as simple as not shitposting just for clicks and interaction.
Even with the relatively recent influx of sponsorships and prize pools, the FGC is still considered a "poverty community". This is why positivity and good vibes are essential. Whether it's the competitors who travel to play in an event where the first place prize doesn't even cover travel costs, the local organizers spending countless hours finding local venues and begging for set-ups to run an event where they will be lucky to break even or the folks working to run a major in the face of rising event costs and increased competition for sponsorship money - it is because of how special the community is and for the love of the games we play.
So we simply ask that you do what you can to keep the scene as open and welcoming as possible now so that in future years there will be a strong and healthy community to support these games.
